The Care Village

A village that comes to you

The Care Village is a mobile community providing showers, toiletries, food, haircuts, and so much more. Our community donates food, supplies, services, and more — what we get, we give.

What you will find there

  • Mobile showers

    A hot shower, privacy, and a towel — brought to where people already are, rather than asking them to travel for it.

  • A hot meal, shared

    Sometimes a hot meal with friends is all you need to lift your spirits and restore your hope. Volunteers and guests eat together.

  • Haircuts and grooming

    There is nothing quite like the feeling of a fresh haircut or beard trim. Grooming at the Village is free to guests.

    With The Hair Nook

  • Toiletries and clean clothes

    Soap, shampoo, towels, and fresh socks and underwear, available to guests after they shower.

  • Fresh produce and pantry items

    Guests take home fresh produce and pantry staples, gathered and coordinated by local young people.

    With Interact Club, a division of Scottsville Rotary

  • A way through to other help

    If we are not able to help you directly, we would be honored to put you in touch with someone who can.

What we get, we give

Our community donates food, supplies, services and more, and the Village hands it straight on. Nothing at the Village costs a guest anything.

The Care Village is an opportunity to serve. We have a great time with friends, both old and new. We share a meal. We laugh and get to know each other better. We talk through ways to better serve our community.

Where and when

The Care Village is a mobile community, currently serving Scottsville, Kentucky and surrounding communities. Because it moves, the place and time change from one gathering to the next.

Upcoming gatherings are announced on our Facebook and Instagram pages, and you are always welcome to call or email and ask when the next one is.
